Ghost Ship Project awarded science grant

The Ghost Ship project has been awarded a science grant worth SEK 3 m by the Swedish Knowledge Foundation (KK-stiftelsen).

The money will be used jointly by the new Institute of Maritime Archaeology at Södertörn University and the Gothenburg based survey company MMTAB (www.mmtab.se). They will explore the use of advanced research techniques for the investigation of the 17th century wreck lying at a depth of 130 metres in the Baltic Sea. Deep Sea Productions has been commissioned by National Geographic and SVT to make a film about the project. Delivery 2011.
