”Vägen till OS” (The Olympic Road) is a 3 x 60 minute documentary series produced by Deep Sea Productions featuring seven Swedish athletes and their preparations for the Beijing olympics.

Three of them – Carolina Klüft, Stefan Holm and Christian Olsson – are defending champions, although only Stefan Holm will be able to defend his gold. Carolina Klüft opted out of heptathlon to concentrate och long jump and triple jump (!) just months before the games. Christian Olsson fought a valiant battle against injury, but finally had to bow out in the final weeks of preparations.

The others featured in the series are hurdlers Sanna and Jenny Kallur (only Sanna will compete in Beijing), 400 meter specialist Johan Wissman and steeplechaser Mustafa Mohamed.

The series aired on SVT 1. July 28, July 31 and August 4, 2008.

After the Olympics, Deep Sea Productions produced a Stefan Holm special, for the Swedish and international market.
